The Iron Fist Black Label formula

Iron Fist Black Label is a nitrous ester of n-pentanol: n-pentyl nitrite (condensed formula CH₃(CH₂)₄–ONO). The molecule belongs to the family of C5 alkyl nitrites, with a linear five-carbon chain.

The "Black Series" grade designates an internal PWD Factory selection: only the purest nitration batches from current production are retained for packaging under this label. Each batch is monitored by gas chromatography (GC-FID) before packaging, with complete batch number traceability.

Iron Fist Black Label is thus the most traced n-pentyl variation of the Iron Fist range. Like all Iron Fist families, each bottle remains a signature in its own right: the choice between Black Label, Original or Ultra Strong is a matter of personal preference and individual experience.

Difference between Iron Fist Black Label and Iron Fist Original

Two products, two different nitrous esters.

Iron Fist Original (founding formula since 1995) is an isoamyl nitrite, more precisely 3-methylbutyl nitrite. Its C5 carbon chain is branched.

Iron Fist Black Label is an n-pentyl nitrite: C5 carbon chain linear. These are two structural isomers, same number of atoms, different geometry, thus distinct chemical profile.

Neither is "superior" to the other: it is a choice of personal preference and packaging. Some favour the historical iso-amyl of the Original, others the linear chain of the Black Label.

Difference between Iron Fist Black Label and Iron Fist Ultra Strong

Iron Fist Ultra Strong and Iron Fist Black Label both rest on n-pentyl nitrite. Same base molecule, two distinct chemical and visual positions.

Ultra Strong emphasises its multi-stage cold nitration process, with a distinctive poppy red packaging.

Black Label prioritises traceability: selection from batches monitored by GC-FID lot by lot, batch number followed individually. Distinctive matte black packaging.

The choice between the two depends on individual experience and preference.

Iron Fist Black Label is available in two aluminium formats:

  • Iron Fist Black Label 10ml (reference IFBL10), aluminium bottle with the exclusive Iron Fist mould, developed in-house at PWD Factory. No other brand has this format in this mould.
  • Iron Fist Black Label 24ml (reference IFBL30), standard aluminium format.

Both bottles are thermally stabilised for extended storage after opening.
